Disaster! Bread and Butter Pudding

It doesn`t matter what level of experience you have with cooking I imagine; whether you`re an Iron Chef or a small timer, mistakes will always strike and like any mistakes, they strike when you least expect it and usually on an important occasion.
When I made bread and butter pudding last weekend, it`d be fair to say it didn`t quite go according to plan. It was actually rather embarrasing because some friends were coming over for dinner and instead of enoying a nice desert, they got a scoop of three week old ice cream instead. Joy.
So what went wrong? After scratching out a few fleas it dawned on me that I`d neglected two very important things. The first one is rather embarrassing mind you.
- I forgot to preheat the oven to 180 degrees so it only barely began to cook
- I used three small eggs instead of large ones, hense all the sloppinesss
This second dot point is as frustrating as it is hilarious because in Japan, whether it be vegetables or eggs, if they`re slightly smaller than normal you can expect a more “normal” price. If they`re larger than small you can expect to pay a somewhat hefty price, so everyone including myself will certainly almost always go for the cheaper, smaller option.
To make sure this disaster never happens again…
Remember to preheat your oven
Remeber that the Japanese eggs you buy (or don`t buy) are probably small, so use four instead of three for this recipe.
